The age of the internet has revolutionised the way people can buy and sell property.
Gone are the days of perusing your local real estate agent’s front window to get an idea of the property market – while trying to keep up with an appraisal from a fast-talking agent.
Now there are dozens of agents available at the click of a finger, all promising you a high selling price and a low commission – in exchange for control of your most precious asset.
With the seemingly endless agent options of a quick Google search, it can be difficult to know which agent will get the best possible price for your home – and ensure it’s a pleasant ride along the way.
It was with these things in mind that Jeremy Chen created My Agents Profile, a savvy new start-up that provides free and accurate profiling of real estate agents for sellers.
Prospective sellers get access to agents’ backgrounds, experience, awards, properties sold, reviews and – perhaps most importantly – commission and marketing costs.
Once a seller creates a free account and logs in, agent fees and testimonials are unlocked. Up to four agents can also be compared side-by-side and market appraisals can be requested.
“I realised that many people are still using traditional ways to find agents to sell their property,” says Jeremy.
“Despite the benefits of face-to-face contact, these methods often lack efficiency and aren’t as comprehensive as most people would like. Often, people will receive a lot of calls chasing them up from agents and feel pressured.”
“I recognised the need for a platform where comprehensive data of agents are readily available to vendors. We believe in hassle-free processes so our platform is aimed at bringing peace of mind for vendors.”
Jeremy says this new method of agent-vetting will increase the transparency in the real estate industry and ensure sellers are connected with agents that suit their experiential expectations and selling-price aspirations.
“We are a ‘Yellow Pages’ for real estate agents dedicated to simplifying the processes of finding a real estate agent and making it a straightforward experience,” says Jeremy.
Information for savvy sellers on how to maximise the value of their property will be shared at The Seller’s Seminar, a free local seminar where experienced agents will share tips and tricks.
The Sellars Seminar is taking place Sunday 27 August at Hurstville Civic Theatre from 2:30pm – 4:30pm. Attendees who sign up to My Agents Profile are also entitled to $500 worth of marketing.
