A Chinese "self-healing promoter" has been extradited to Australia over the death of a six-year-old boy In Hurstville.
St George detectives escorted Hongchi Xiao on flights from London to Sydney, landing early on Thursday morning.
He was formally charged with manslaughter at Kogarah police station ahead of a court appearance this afternoon.
St George Acting Inspector Brett Van Akker addressed the media today and said the arrest came after years of hard work.
‘’It was a long investigation, extremely thorough,’’ he said.
‘’I suppose it shows the effort by police in seeking out justice.’’
He was refused bail to reappear in October.

A man wanted over the death of a boy, 6, who was found unconscious in a Hurstville hotel after being taken to a self-healing conference, is expected to be charged after arriving back from the UK.
The man, 53, who has an outstanding warrant for manslaughter, is expected to arrive in Sydney on Thursday and face court later in the day.
Strike Force Haviland was established by detectives attached to St George Local Area Command to investigate the death of the boy in 2015.
“Following investigations and with the assistance of police from the United Kingdom, a man, 53, was arrested at a London airport on Tuesday, April 25, 2017,” a police spokesman said.
”Initial inquiries suggest between April 22-28, 2015, a man and a woman with their six-year-old son attended a self-healing conference at a facility on Park Road, Hurstville.
“Just before 10pm on Monday, April 28, 2015, emergency services were called to a hotel on Forest Road, Hurstville, following reports the boy had been found in an unconscious state.
“NSW Ambulance paramedics attended and commenced CPR.
“However, the boy could not be revived.”
Police said two women, aged 41 and 64, along with a man, 56, had been arrested and charged with manslaughter as part of investigations.
“Charges are expected to be laid against the 53-year-old man, who is also expected to appear in court later today,” the spokesman said.
