About 150 people queued for up to two and a half hours on Thursday for the opening in Westfield Miranda of a new store which specialises in everyday fashion sports footwear and clothing.
JD Sports predicted a big turnout, but the number who lined up from 6am was well below the 500 at the Parramatta store launch in July, which was a global record for the UK based company.
A company spokesman said the response at Miranda was “great”.
“The Parramatta launch had the benefit of taking place during school and university holidays,” he said.
The spokesman said most of those who arrived early were there for the sale of exclusive and limited edition products, which had “sold out within minutes”.
