AMIDST the recent property market decline in Australia's major cities, the Sutherland Shire has become a "safe bet" for downsizers and empty nesters searching for high value apartments that will yield well and create good capital gain.

Quantum Group's project design and marketing head, Mr Ben Thrum said he has noticed a shift in buying behaviour and a growing awareness amongst buyers.

“Buyers are far more educated, they have a greater understanding of the market and what they’re buying.

Mr Thrum said with the market slowing in the major cities the buying process has become a lot more normalised.

“They’re being more careful, smarter and shopping around before making the final sale. But we find buyers are coming back to Quantum Group though - there’s a high level of quality with our finishes and overall design,” he said.

Quantum Group are currently developing two new offerings for the Sutherland Shire.

The Linden's exclusive garden apartment is ingeniously designed to capture light, control temperature and enhance the outlook of its lush surroundings.

The Linden is a contemporary build designed by an award winning architect firm with six residential levels and one, two and three bedroom apartments fitted with high end appliances and an abundance of natural light.

The Linden penthouse offers a unique edge – contrasting in layout, colour scheme and position with its very own private staircase.

Construction is on track and expected to start in early 2018.

The low-rise development offers a communal rooftop haven with barbecue facilities and unrivalled proximity to Sutherland station.

Quantum Group is also selling the Adelong, an art-deco designer feel build with private balconies, six floors and 30 apartments located in the heart of the Sutherland Shire just 25 kilometres from Sydney's CBD.

The Linden undoubtedly impresses with its contemporary curves yet melds beautifully into the streetscape it overlooks.

The Adelong complements its lush quiet surroundings on President Avenue, Sutherland with natural materials and neutral tones, featuring European oak flooring and the very best of modern conveniences.

Having reached pre-sale targets the Adelong is currently finishing its last sales. Construction started in June 2017.

“We’ve got some really well priced entry point apartments so we’re seeing quite a lot of activity from first home buyers.

“There’s just more bang for your buck, particularly in the kitchens and bathrooms with the fixtures and finishes - you just can’t compare that.”

Mr Thrum said the Adelong is almost sold out and this development has undergone five price rises, so it's a game of first in best dressed.

“It’s a smart choice to invest in an area that’s not overdeveloped. It's close to national parks, the beach and it’s only a 29 minute express train to the city," he said.

Sutherland is “in its infancy” with great potential, due to its undeveloped surroundings and community feel.

Mr Thrum said it's undergoing a cosmetic makeover and becoming a cosmopolitan centre that will prove to be a solid investment.
