Jessica Sergis and Talesha Quinn will make their Jillaroos debuts after being chosen in the Australia squad for a Test match against Papua New Guinea in Port Moresby later this month.

The Cronulla Sharks pair are two of six debutants in the 20-player squad as Australia start preparations for the women’s World Cup in November.

Sergis and Quinn will be joined in coach Brad Donald’s side by fellow Cronulla Sharks players Ruan Sims and Corban McGregor.

"This match is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the female game on the international stage. I'm really happy with the group we’ve selected to head across to Papua New Guinea and create a bit of history," Donald said.

"It's a really good mix of players from right across the country, so to have them come together for a week so close to the World Cup is great for our preparations for later in the year.

"A fair few from this squad have probably yet to experience playing in front of a packed crowd, let alone away from home and against a tough opponent like the PNG Orchids, so I'm eager to see how everyone handles themselves on the day."

The Cronulla Sharks’ home ground at Southern Cross Group Stadium, Woolooware has been chosen to host all pool matches and the semi-finals starting on November 16.

For the first time in rugby league history, the women’s World Cup will be played concurrently with the men’s tournament, with both finals to feature as a double header in Brisbane on December 2.
