Postie has a heart of gold
On the very windy day last month, I left my home to drive to the bank. As I passed my neighbours, two doors down, I stopped to ask if they were having any problems with their power, as my internet was down.
The neighbours were talking to the postman at the time and all three men warned of the destructive high winds.
The postman asked if it was really necessary for me to go out, as the roads were quite dangerous (fallen tree branches and wires down). I mentioned I needed money for a trip I was taking early in the morning.
He casually offered to lend me some money, rather than see me go out in the wind. At first I thought he was just making a comment, and thanked him for the thought. But he insisted it was a genuine offer.
I commented he did not know me, his laughing response being: "I know your name and where you live".
I accepted his kind offer, stayed at home, and prepared for my trip. I feel amazed at the generosity and concern from this man, and wish to thank him publicly. (I have returned the money, and expressed my thanks in person as well.)

Library books returned
A big thank you to a person who found my library books and scarves on the train and returned them to Caringbah Library!
Thank you to Deb from the library for notifying me that they were found and thanks to the person working at Cronulla Station who checked the train making sure that my bag wasn’t left behind.
Experiencing such a kindness from so many people at once made me feel really happy to be part of Sutherland Shire community.

Chivalry is not dead
Our car blew a tyre in the middle of nowhere. Lucky for us the entire Nyngan Tigers footy team was following in their bus to their grand final!
They pulled over and their mascot changed our tyre in his Tigers suit. Good luck to all the boys and what lovely young gentlemen!
