St George have buried their 2016 grand final heartbreak, winning the 2017 AFL Sydney division one flag with a commanding 12.7 (79) to 5.5 (35) victory over Sydney University on Saturday.
The Dragons, who lost an agonising decider by one point to the UTS Bats last year, ran out comfortable 44-point winners thanks to five goals from Dylan Addison.
Jordan Ware also kicked a pair of goals for St George as the minor premiers ran riot at Blacktown. A five-goal opening term opened up an early lead for the Dragons who were out to a 19-point advantage at half-time.
St George kept Sydney Uni goalless in the third quarter to all but seal victory.
The win added to the club’s under-19s division one title won against North Shore a week earlier.
In the first grade grand final, Pennant Hills completed an incredible finals campaign, coming from fifth place to down minor premiers Sydney University 10.6 (66) to 7.18 (60).
