A man,30, has been charged after a Monterey cafe and Rockdale pet store were broken into in the early hours of the morning.
Police said, about 4.10am on Monday this week, a cafe in Barton Street, Monterey, was broken into and cash was stolen.
Yesterday (Tuesday), about 2.40am, three men allegedly gained entry to a pet store on West Botany Street, Rockdale.
“They left the scene with a steel safe containing cash,” a police spokesman said.
St George police investigated both incidents and, “acting on information”, arrested a man, 30.
”Subsequently, officers executed a search warrant at a home on Scarborough Street, Monterey, where they allegedly located drugs and cash,” the spokesman said.
The man was charged with two counts each of aggravated break, enter and steal and possessing prohibited drugs.
He was refused bail to appear at Sutherland Local Court on Wednesday.
Investigations are continuing.
