Indigenous students from De La Salle College Caringbah have put their art work on display celebrating the theme Our Languages Matter.
The school ran a project recently, led by teacher Natasha Dalton, which saw Indigenous students research their tribe and create an art work.
The project tied in with National Aborigines and Islanders Day Observance Committee (NAIDOC) Week, held earlier this year, which was based around the theme Our Languages Matter.
A former student Ryan Severn offered his shop window in Miranda for the students to display their work this month.
“This was a great motivation for our students to engage with and learn about their Indigenous culture and heritage and several students continue to develop ties to their community,” Mrs Dalton said.
Mr Severn, from Severn Graphics in Miranda, has offered his shop front as a place for students to display other creative works this year with monthly themes including ANZAC Day and The Wonders of the Shire.
