Rebel rockers, Urban Guerillas will celebrate the launch of their 14th album at the Petersham Bowling Club on September 28.
The following night they will be rocking the Gymea Hotel with Spy V Spy in a night of not to be missed rock/pop.
The new album, called Guerilla Radio has seven tracks of vibrant and engaging songs from their signature tune Guerilla Radio to a modern sea shanty Sailors and Dockers taking up the fight for Australian seamen trying to keep their jobs.
Other song include Iron and Steel looking at the mining industry and bureaucracy and lies and honesty.
The current digital release, No Walls, with its Mexican flavoured swipe at Donald Trump’s wall idea, is also included on the CD EP.
In the past year the band has been touring regional NSW, and suburban Sydney, often sharing the stage with 80s mates Spy V Spy, Gang Gajang and the Radiators.
What is unique about the Guerillas is that they continue to put out socially relevant and topically charged music.
The Urban Guerillas’ polite, well humoured and clearly articulated rebellion strikes a chord with punters in a melodic yet passionate and driven manner.
That’s how their rock music works – pop sensibility and punk energy provides the music for the head, the heart and the feet trifecta.
On Friday, September 29 the Urban Guerillas will play with Spy V Spy at Gymea Hotel from 8pm.
Entry is free.
