Their sound is one of the most instantly recognisable of the 1960s and one of the closest things to it will hit the shire this month.
The Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons Show will play at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre on October 14, with the 80-minute show to be supplemented with a half hour Sound of the Sixties set featuring major bands of the era including The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Hollies.
The Frankie Valli Show is a slick musical production featuring a talented five-piece live band with Christopher Lee on lead vocals. Lee takes the role of Valli with his impressive falsetto giving the show its authenticity along with the vocal harmonies, costumes and choreographed routines.
Fans will be treated to all the Four Seasons classics and hits made famous by the Jersey Boys including Sherry, Big Girls Don’t Cry, Working My Way Back to You, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Walk Like a Man, Who Loves You and December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night).
The band were one of the most celebrated harmony groups of all time. A musical based on the lives of the Four Seasons, Jersey Boys, premiered in 2005 and won multiple Tony Awards after its move to Broadway.
The original cast included John Lloyd Young as Valli, Daniel Reichard as Bob Gaudio, Christian Hoff as Tommy DeVito and J. Robert Spener as Nick Massi. The play portrays the band’s history in four parts, with each narrated by a different member of the band and supposedly reflecting their perspective on the band’s history.
The Broadway production won four Tony Awards in 2006 including Best Musical and Best Actor for Young.
The movie adaptation, directed by Clint Eastwood with Young as Valli, was released in 2014.
