Traffic authorities have come up with a new plan to improve traffic flow at the intersection of Princes Highway and King Georges Road, Blakehurst, after being forced to withdraw the original controversial proposal.
Stuart Street, which feeds into the intersection, will be partially closed, so motorists cannot enter Princes Highway.
Under the proposal, motorists will still be allowed to enter Stuart Street from the highway.
Following comprehensive feedback from the community, Roads and Maritime Services went back to the drawing board.

Many Blakehurst and Baldface residents are still likely to oppose the new plan, which Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) released for community feedback.
There was a public backlash when the original plan was released just before Christmas two years ago.
It would have stopped both the northbound movement from Stuart Street on to the highway and the through-movement for southbound vehicles from the highway into Stuart Street.
Left-in and left-out movements would still have been allowed under the 2015 proposal.
A spokeswoman for the traffic authority said, following comprehensive feedback from the community in December 2015 and January, 2016, RMS “went back to the drawing board”.
“The proposed improvements include building a concrete median which will change access for vehicles travelling out of Stuart Street on to the Princes Highway and King Georges Road,” she said.
“Access will be maintained for vehicles travelling from the Princes Highway and King Georges Road on to Stuart Street.
“Vehicles exiting Stuart Street will be redirected via alternative routes to provide a number of benefits for motorists travelling through the busy area.”
The spokeswoman said the proposed changes would increase efficiency and improve safety.
The proposal is part of the $300 million Gateway to the South Pinch Point Program, which aims to reduce congestion and improve travel times on Sydney’s key southern corridors.
Residents are invited to make comment until Friday, October 20.
