Sutherland Shire couple Paul and Tess Meier celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on October 5 with a family gathering on the South Coast at Ulladulla.
Paul and Tess (Therese) have lived most of their lives in the St George and Sutherland Shire.
They raised their five children in Kingsgrove and have 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Paul worked as a an apprentice at the hairdresser at Kingsgrove and Tess at the neighbouring Dry Cleaners where they first met.
Paul continued his hairdressing business in the city and Tess ended her working career at Kingsgrove King Gee.
After retiring, they moved into a new home at Loftus, near their eldest daughter.
Paul enjoyed his sport and was involved in golf, bowls, snooker and darts through Kingsgrove RSL and even today makes a weekly train trip to catch up with his colleagues.
Both love their rugby league, being strong St George supporters.
