Sutherland and St George are locked in tight matches in the McDonald’s NSW Premier Cricket competition – during round three.
Sutherland and St George hit the road on Saturday to begin their two-day fixtures against Mosman and Blacktown respectively.
Sutherland posted a good first innings score on Saturday of 364 against Mosman at Allan Border Oval.
Former Australian all-rounder Shane Watson posted another good score of 71 for the club, while Peter Saroukos top-scored for Sutherland with 84.
Mosman were resilient late in the day scoring 0/31 in reply – setting up a good second day this coming Saturday.
Meanwhile, Blacktown batted first against St George at Joe McAleer Oval reaching 303.
Nicholas Stapleton was the pick of the Saints bowlers with figures of 4/60. In reply, St George lost the early wicket of Stapleton to finish the day at 1/8.
Those matches will both resume this coming Saturday.
