A man, 48, has been arrested after forcing his way into a Woolooware home on Monday.
About 4.45pm police were called to a Flinders Road home after reports a man had forced his way into the home and was damaging property.
When they arrived officers found the rear glass sliding door smashed, with the glass spraying into the home and injuring an 8-year-old boy.
A 44-year-old woman was inside and spoke with police.
Shortly after 5pm police found a vehicle on Endeavour Road, Taren Point and arrested the 48-year-old male driver.
A search of the vehicle allegedly found a bag containing house breaking implements, a balaclava, three knives, a crow bar and a pair of bolt cutters.
It’s also alleged he had an expandable baton in his pocket.
He was taken to Miranda Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter with intent, possession of housebreaking implements, possession or use of a prohibited weapon without a permit and have custody of an offensive implement in a public place.
He was refused bail to appear in Sutherland Local Court on Tuesday.
The boy sustained a small cut to his nose and glass fragments in his eyes that required medical treatment.
The female occupant was not injured.
