Throughout November Hazelhurst Gallery will host Musical Sundays, a first-time event for the gallery, where people can enjoy listening to beautiful classical music in the quiet surrounds of the exhibition space while enjoying the current exhibition European Old Masters: 16th – 19th Century.
These outstanding works are from the state’s most important European old masters including magnificent works by some of the leading Italian, French and British artists of the High Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Romantic periods.
They are on loan to Hazelhurst Gallery from the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
From 2pm to 4pm each Sunday in November and the first Sunday in December people can enjoy listening to music by highly accomplished classical musicians; Clear Strings Trio, Classic Strings Trio and Krasiva Strings over five Sundays.
Hazelhurst Regional Gallery and Arts Centre director, Belinda Hanrahan said that the European Old Masters exhibition lent itself to an event like Musical Sundays where people can enjoy the music by other masters including Bach, Beethoven, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Pachelbel, Schubert and Vivaldi.
