Matt Hopkins’ second century of the season helped steer St George to a six-wicket round three victory over Blacktown on Saturday.
Hopkins, who opened the NSW Premier Cricket season with an unbeaten ton against Hawkesbury, made a patient 121 at Joe McAleer Oval as St George successfully chased Blacktown’s first innings total of 303.
Blake Macdonald (69) and NSW representative Kurtis Patterson (50) made half centuries as Saints coasted home for the loss of four wickets in the 78th over on day two.
Meanwhile, an incredible 203 not out from NSW batsman Daniel Hughes saw Mosman score a six-wicket win over Sutherland at Allan Border Oval.
Sutherland set the hosts 367 for victory with Hughes smashing 31 fours and two sixes, with opener Anthony Adlam the next top score with 45.
On Saturday, St George take on Campbelltown-Camden at Raby 1 on day one of their round four fixture while Sutherland host Fairfield-Liverpool at Glenn McGrath Oval.
