A Jack Thorne hat-trick has led Menai to the under-21s men’s Champion of Champions title after the Hawks thrashed Maccabi Hakoah 6-1.
The annual Football NSW Champion of Champions finals were played at Valentine Sports Park on Sunday with 18 matches to decide the best club sides in the state.
Thorne scored twice inside the opening 10 minutes for Menai, first tapping in a rebound after a shot had come back off the post and then a long range effort moments later, before Oliver Gruia pulled a goal back for the Eastern Suburbs Football Association club on the half hour mark.
But the Sutherland Shire champions went on with the job in the second half. A Jared Snellenburg penalty had Menai out to a 3-1 lead before Thorne completed his hat-trick.
Pierce Coles-Sinclair added a fifth from a Thorne through ball 20 minutes from time before Jacob Roll fired home a sixth from close range, enough for the Hawks to run out dominant five-goal winners.
The Champion of Champions victory completed a fantastic season for Menai who were minor premiers, won the grand final and won the State Cup for the 3rd year in a row.
Miranda fell 4-0 to Albion Park in the All Age women’s decider, while Engadine lost 2-1 to St Michael’s in the over-45s men’s final.
