Ali Najem won his third Wanda X-treme 6 title on Sunday as part of the annual Jock Athletic Running Festival at Wanda Beach.
Najem finished ahead of youngster Lachlan Crawford and Dane Holt. In the women’s event, Laura James took top honours, edging out Wanda’s Annika Durante and Ella Wright in what was the closest finish in the event’s history.
Kai Hammond tore the field apart in the Jane McGrath Classic, taking line honours in the 2.5km family fun run or walk ahead of Dane Mitchell. Young gun Alexia Kalamvolis was dominant in the women’s race, finishing ahead of former winner Chloe Gentle and training partner Sienna Alderson.
In the Corporate Dash Relay, Team Crust Cronulla was too strong for the rest of the competition, finishing ahead of Jock Athletic. Though Jock Athletic gained revenge in the women’s event, beating home Crust Cronulla.
