A woman, 34, is the third person to be charged after women were allegedly assaulted and robbed at Hurstville and Campsie.
The victim of the Hurstville assault was 76, and she was allegedly thrown to the ground during an attempted bag snatch on Park Road about 1.45pm on Wednesday, July 12.
”She suffered injuries to her arm,” a police spokesman said.
“Police will allege an hour later, police a woman, 34, had her handbag stolen while she was walking on Duke Street, Campsie.”
St George Local Area investigated and initially arrested a man and a woman.
The man, 25, was charged with aggravated assault with intent to rob, steal from person and five counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception.
The woman, 30, was charged with aggravated assault with intent to rob, robbery, five counts of dishonestly obtaining property by deception, giving a false name and having goods in custody suspected of being stolen.
They are due to appear at Downing Centre Local Court on November 28..
Yesterday (Wednesday), police arrested a third person, a woman, 34, at a property in Bayton Place, St Helens Park.
She was taken to Campbelltown Police Station where she was charged with aggravated assault with intent to rob, and robbery.
She was granted strict conditional bail and is due to appear at Campbelltown Local Court on November 30.
