As we edge closer to Amazon's official launch - speculated to be sometime today or next week - online users are keeping themselves entertained.
While Amazon's Australian site still looked pretty much as it has for years at lunchtime on Friday, selling only Kindles and ebooks, some intrepid users have stumbled across what appears to be a series of test product listings.
One such listing, titled "testing variant availablity" [sic] and priced at $9,990.00, has drawn some gold reviews from users.
Some Twitter users were hopeful the launch would be on Friday.
Anyone else just sitting around refreshing the #amazonaustralia website... (if my boss reads this i'm not doing this)??? David Colins (@DavidColins) November 23, 2017
I am 100% going to geek out and buy something random from @amazon the second they launch. Not for the product, but to see how good the service and delivery is.#amazonaustralia??? JonathonT (@MrJonathonT) November 23, 2017
But really, nobody had a clue what was going on:
What if...

Buzz for Amazon's launch has been high since tech website Lifehacker published an email on Tuesday that circulated around Amazon's third-party sellers - which told them to prepare orders for a 'soft launch' on Thursday.
The local site was rumoured to fully launch on Friday to tie in with the 'Black Friday' sales, which marks the start of the holiday shopping season in the US and has become a global sales event.
But Thursday's much-talked-about 'soft launch' proved to be a bit of an anti-climax for most hopeful shoppers. The soft launch, or "internal testing phase", was presumably limited to a small number of select customers, with Amazon's Australian website looking more or less unchanged for the bulk of consumers.
Amazon didn't publicly announce its launch timing. The details of the soft launch plans were leaked in an email to sellers.
With no sign of a big unveiling of Amazon's full offering as of yet, analysts at Citi have now predicted the launch may take place by early next week, later than expected.
