No printed timetable
Imagine this: a state boasting a $5 billion budget surplus, a city of 5 million served by a vast, complex rail system, but after major service changes - no printed train timetables. It’s true.
Go on-line, we’re told. And if you can’t use the internet? Call 151 300. Really?
And what if you need to make several trips at uncertain times in one day and haven’t a mobile phone? Tough.
This is the Berejiklian government’s way of serving its long-suffering public.
I hope the punters have a reasonably long memory.

Jacaranda Kindy joy
For the last 14 years I have, as a grandmother, been involved with the Jacaranda Kindergarten at Caringbah.
Last Friday morning’s Christmas concert (December 1) with all the little children singing their hearts out for all of us, brought tears and joy for those watching.
It was not just a display of the children’s talent in singing but a reiteration of the dedication and commitment of the Director Louise Murfett and her wonderful staff.
Thank you from a very appreciative grandmother and for giving my grandchildren a safe and enjoyable and confident start to life.

Bats endangered, really?
Re the article ‘‘Bats bite, scratch 15 across district’’ (Leader, November 29).
Up to 16,000 bats in just one colony at Kareela, how can this be an endangered species when there are hundreds of colonies along the east coast with thousands in each colony?
It’s time we put people’s health in populated suburbs ahead of disease carrying flying vermin.
I pity the the little kids at Sylvanvale and surrounds who have to play amid bat urine and crap on a daily basis.
Forget wasting money “moving” them on to somebody else’s backyard, find a permanent solution.
