A dashboard camera recording captures a family’s anguish as they watch a police pursuit at Rockdale of a car police that was allegedly stolen and contained two youths, 14 and 15.
In the recording, obtained by 7 News, a woman is heard crying as she watches the Honda Civic sliding around the Seven Ways after clipping another car.
The Honda Civic pulled out in front of the family’s car on Princes Highway, Rockdale, with police in pursuit.
It looped around around the block, coming back through the Seven Ways and clipping another car in the process.
Police approached the car with guns drawn, a witness, Ben Kelemete told 7 News.

Two youths, aged 14 and 15, were allegedly in a stolen car that was pursued by police and crashed at Rockdale overnight.
A police spokesman said, about 7.15pm on Thursday, St George officers were patrolling Princes Highway, Kogarah, when they observed a Honda Civic allegedly being driven in a dangerous manner.
“Officers directed the driver to stop; however, will allege the car continued and a pursuit was initiated,” the spokesman said.
“This continued to the intersection of Bay Street, Rockdale, when the stolen car allegedly hit another vehicle and stopped.
“Two youths travelling in the Civic were arrested and taken to Kogarah Police Station.
“Two men, who were seated in the rear of the vehicle, ran from the scene and inquiries are continuing to locate them.
“The driver, a 15-year-old boy, was charged with police pursuit – not stop – drive dangerously (Skye’s Law), drive recklessly, drive conveyance taken without consent of owner and driver never licensed.
“His passenger, a 14-year-old boy, was charged with be carried in conveyance, resist officer in the execution of duty, assault police officer in the execution of duty – cause actual bodily harm and destroy or damage property.”
The youths were refused bail to appear on Friday at Sutherland Local Court.
A senior constable received treatment at St George Hospital for an injury sustained to his hand during the incident.
