Aquinas Catholic College has celebrated its 25th anniversary with a mass and the unveiling of a new statue.
The high school in Menai celebrated its 25th anniversary at the start of this month.
The school organised a mass, attended by former staff and students, as well as a blessing of a new statue of St Thomas Aquinas.
“We also had a touch football game, school tours, memorabilia displays and the burying of a time capsule to be opened during the golden jubilee in 2042,” David Bulmer, Aquinas Catholic College leader of teaching and learning, said.
He said the school had come a long way since it was opened in 1993.
“Originally, Aquinas housed 49 students in demountables with no brick buildings. The college has now flourished into a thriving educational institution with modern facilities, contemporary learning spaces, a beautiful oval and well over 1000 students.”
