Shire golfer Charlotte Perkins has received yet another accolade, named the Jack Newton Junior Golf junior girl rookie of the year for 2017.

Charlotte, who is now a member at Cronulla Golf Club but also retains membership at Kareela, was honoured at Pymble Golf Club earlier this month.

It has been a busy time for Charlotte, who had to miss the awards as she was away playing the Greg Norman Junior Masters on the Gold Coast where she finished sixth overall.

Charlotte, whose handicap is now down to less than eight, also returned home to play the annual Aron Price Junior Open at Kareela last week.

She has also enjoyed some recent success, finishing as the nett runner-up in the under-13s girls division of the Jack Newton International Sub-Junior Classic at Cypress Lakes Golf Club in the Hunter Valley in October.
