Footage has emerged of an ugly road rage incident in Hurstville.

A motorbike rider was captured on dashcam kicking the head of a delivery driver during the savage attack.

The peak-hour incident, which stopped traffic, is still unexplained.

Neither of the men involved has come forward to make a complaint.

But there was no mistaking the brutality of the rider as he first kicks the driver as he lay on the ground and then unleashes a series of punches.

Footage shows the motorbike parked mid-lane next to the delivery van, with the pair tangling on the road amid traffic.

The attack was only stopped after two on-lookers wandered over to intervene.

“They seemed to just lose control,” Inspector David Ralph of the NSW Police said.

“Don’t get out of the car. Don’t challenge the other person. Pull over, take a photo and get their licence plate if you have to.

“If anyone in Hurstville happened to see anything, we’d love for you to contact police.”
