Big Bash League
Sutherland star Daniel Fallins made his Big Bash League debut for the Melbourne Stars on Friday night.
The young leg-spinner took a respectable 0-19 from his three overs as the Stars won their first game of the tournament, downing the Melbourne Renegades by 23 runs at the MCG.
Fallins was named to keep his place in the side for the Stars’ clash with the Sydney Sixers on Tuesday.
U-19s World Cup
Another young Sutherland product, Austin Waugh, endured a tough start to the under-19s World Cup with Australia suffering a 100-run loss to India in their opening match on Sunday.
India made 7-328 at Bay Oval in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand with Waugh taking 1-64 from his six overs. The young all-rounder then made six with the bat as Australia were bundled out for 228.
Australia face Zimbabwe in their second pool match on Wednesday.
