ADAM Malone is preparing for one of the biggest tests of his life as he approaches February’s ROC RACE. The race consists of 12 epic obstacles over a 5 km distance, but it’s Adam’s story which makes the run ever so important.
In December 2016, Adam was completing a job on the roof of a friend’s house when he fell from the second floor, fracturing his back and breaking three ribs. He later found that heat exhaustion and dehydration led to his fall.
The fall changed Adam’s life “all activities you would do day-to-day like bike riding which I enjoy doing, I couldn’t do”. He became reliant on people for everything, and was not even able to pick up his newborn son.
Adam has always had a love for the outdoors, especially obstacle courses competing in Mud Run’s prior to his injury. ROC RACE has given him the opportunity to involve rehabilitation along with the ability to raise money for the Leukemia foundation following a close friend being diagnosed with Cancer late last year.
Completing the ROC RACE “makes it a reality” that he is almost at full recovery. Adam’s race is set for the 10th of February at Sydney Olympic Park.
