A truck has caught fire on the M5 this morning with both directions closed to traffic between King Georges Road and Kingsgrove Road at Beverley Hills.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 5.40am this morning following reports the fuel tanker had caught alight.
The road was closed in both directions while Fire and Rescue NSW brought the fire under control. Those road closures remain in place and motorists should avoid the area.
The driver of the truck was uninjured and is now speaking with police.
Campsie Local Area Command is investigating the incident.
