Women Want Adventure is a women’s only outdoor community which aims to empower, inspire and connect women through outdoor activities.
Women catch up over a hike or a kayak or bond over toasting marshmallows on a weekend camping trip. Trips are inclusive and lead by female outdoor experts. It gives women the opportunity to get fit, explore places they may never have ventured alone, make new friends and laugh.
Next month Women Want Adventure is hosting a range of community events in the Sutherland Shire and surrounding areas including free meet-up hikes, yoga and hiking days and kayaking trips.
They welcome all women to come and join their community, eat an Anzac biscuit on the trails and feel inspired by the outdoors. Trips include a walk to Kingfisher Pool in Heathcote National Park and kayaking in Kangaroo Valley.
On Saturday, March 24 there will be a yoga day at Woronora River from 7.45am-10.30am. There will be a one-hour hike followed by a yoga class. This is a great event for beginners. Bring your hiking shoes and yoga mat.
Each trip offers a wide range of fitness and experience levels; from women who have never been hiking before to those who have extensive experience in the outdoors.
So far, the group has helped hundreds of women to break out of their comfort zones, learn new skills and make new connections in the Sutherland Shire region and beyond. Details: www.womenwantadventure.com.au.
