Sydney FC will host Melbourne City in the W-League grand final on Sunday.
The Sky Blues needed extra-time to down a gallant Newcastle 3-2 in their semi-final on Saturday, with Lisa De Vanna’s goal in the first half of extra-time sending Sydney through to the decider.
Melbourne City upset premiers the Brisbane Roar to set up the clash with Sydney at Allianz Stadium.
Kick-off is at 5pm.
In their semi-final at Leichhardt Oval, Sydney FC led 2-0 at half-time thanks to Caitlin Foord and Kylie Ledbrook. The Sky Blues’ passage to the final looked assured when Jets defender Hannah Brewer was sent off just before half-time.
But the ten-player Jets staged a brave fightback in the second half, with Arin Gilliland and Tara Andrews scoring for the visitors to force the game into extra-time.
