Vital advice from two state government agencies is awaited on the Heathcote Hall estate development proposal.
The Sutherland Shire Council meeting on Monday night was told advice from the Rural Fire Service and Heritage Office of NSW was “critical” in assessing the development application (DA).
“We need to consult with them before we complete the assessment,” the planning director said.
“We are awaiting information.
“Once we have that, we will be able to complete the assessment and provide it to the Sydney South Planning Panel.”
An update was provided following a request by Cr Greg McLean on “the current position and recent activity” surrounding the DA.
The council was told a significant amount of additional information was presented in revised plans that were lodged in December last year.
The revised proposal had then been exhibited for seven weeks.
Under the latest plans, the historic hall will be restored and 20 apartments and 35 townhouses constructed in the grounds of the estate.
The proposed apartment blocks have three levels above ground and two below ground for parking.
The original DA, lodged in May, 2017, was for 21 apartments and 36 townhouses.
This was a big reduction on original plans, released in 2016, for 76 dwellings, including five storey buildings.
