Cronulla coach Shane Flanagan described it as an almost perfect trial performance as the Sharks downed the Wests Tigers on Saturday night.
The Sharks led 20-0 at half-time before going on to win 24-12 at Campbelltown in their final trial match of pre-season.
Cronulla’s spine of Valentine Holmes, Matt Moylan, Chad Townsend and Jayden Brailey were outstanding in the first half, combining on a number of occasions as the Sharks outclassed the hosts.
Flanagan said star recruit Josh Dugan was ok despite suffering a knock to his jaw.
Co-captain Paul Gallen was the only player missing from what will most likely be Cronulla’s starting 13 for round one, with Cronulla taking a pre-caution with the veteran forward after he battled a slight pectoral problem throughout pre-season.
Moylan only played the first half, with the Sharks again erring on the side of caution with the former Panther managing an issue with fluid on his knee.
The Sharks have a week off before their 2018 NRL season opener against North Queensland in Townsville on March 9.
