Cronulla Sharks co-captain Wade Graham believes his side will be ready to go in their season opener against North Queensland on Friday night.
The Sharks travel to Townsville to take on a Cowboys team with representative forward Matt Scott and star Johnathan Thurston returning from long injury lay offs. It will also be Thurston’s 300th NRL game.
But Graham believes his team have shown enough in pre-season to go into the game quietly confident.
“I feel like we’re tracking alright. Cowboys up there is a massive game,” he said.
“But I feel like we’re on track. We’ve been training well. We got what we needed out of the [Tigers] trial. Now it’s just a matter of getting all the finishing touches on it and putting ourselves in our best spot to play well in round one.
“NRL is tough, it wouldn’t matter who you’re playing in the first round. Obviously a big occasion for them, JT’s 300th, so that’s how we’re preparing.”
