Pedestrians skirt past the collapsed awning in Forest Road, Hurstville today. Picture: Morris Jones
Part of the footpath at Forest Road, Hurstville was barricaded off today after an awning collapsed.
Barricades were erected outside the Taste of Hong Kong restaurant at 334 Forest Road at the western end of the CDB with pedestrians forced to skirt around the partially collapsed awning.
Morris Jones of Hurstville sent in his photo of the collapsed awning to the Leader.
It is believed that the awning may have been weakened in Sunday’s high winds. Several sheets of corrugated iron came loose and fell on the footpath.
The restaurant remained closed this afternoon.
