Whale statue campaign
On a recent visit to Tasmania we drove down to Cockle Creek at the end of the most southernmost road in Australia.
Recherche Bay at Cockle Creek is well known for whales visiting the area and has a wonderful bronze statue of a whale by artist Stephen Walker that attracts visitors from all over.
If a small state like Tasmania can provide such an attraction honouring these mighty leviathans can NSW not follow suit and erect a similar statue at the end of the road leading to the whale watching station at Kurnell?
If anyone else is interested in starting a movement to bring this about please contact me through the Leader and see what we can do to:
a) get permission to erect a statue and b) obtain the funds to do it.
