A new reverse vending kiosk, where residents can take cans and bottles for a 10 cents refund, has opened at Caringbah.
Machines have been installed at the FlipOut trampoline centre at 12 Parraweena Road.
Cronulla MP and Attorney-General Mark Speakman said there were now 15 Return and Earn container deposit scheme collection points in Sutherland Shire.
They included four reverse vending machine sites and nine over-the-counter collection points in shops and other small businesses.
The other machines are in car parks at the Cronulla Sharks Leagues Club, Menai Marketplace and Sutherland PCYC.
Mr Speakman said there had been widespread community support for Return and Earn, with more than 148 million containers returned across the state since December 1.
Most drink containers between 150ml and three litres are eligible for the 10 cents refund. More information: returnandearn.org.au
