Caringbah is home to a new women’s lifestyle and wellness centre, with a focus on a virtual experience.
Club W, which launched this month, has more than 3000 virtual classes including yoga, pilates, dance and an active education area.
The modern community centre is more than a fitness site hub – it is described as place to meet, greet and have a cup of tea and a chat with fellow members.
Club W chief executive officer, Tony de Leede, is the brains behind the concept.
“I’ve been in the industry for a long time, but this is something I’ve been working on for years,” he said.
“We have spent two and half years putting together what is now an extensive library of movement, activity and knowledge material.
“We want to offer a community environment that encourages conversation and action.”
He says the space also addresses a social need.
“Guys have pubs, RSL clubs and TABS. Women don’t have a ‘second home’ like this,” he said.
“It can address the concept of lonliness. Especially with baby boomers who crave community conversation … while wanting to age well at the same time.”
