Serious golfers and those who just want to have fun can play a round on one of the world’s top courses at a new indoor simulation centre at Caringbah.
Players use a real golf club to hit a real ball and the shot is read by high speed cameras and laser sensors, which simulate it on to a huge virtual reality screen.
The X-Golf Australasia centre, which is housed in a 400 square metre factory unit in Meta Street, is the eleventh centre opened by the group since 2012.
There are five simulators, each accommodating up six players at a time, with a choice of 50 international courses .
Owners Che Taiaroa and Mark Wilkinson expect the facility to be a hit with people of all skill levels, from novices to professionals.
“There are multiple modes,” Mr Wilkinson said.
”People who want to work at their golf can use it, as they do a driving range, but you can come down with your friends and play nine holes.”
The cost for a group is about $15 each for an hour.
The centre includes a cafe and liquor licence approval is awaited.
Operating hours are 10am to 10pm six days a week Monday to Saturday and 10am to 6pm on Sundays.
