There was quite a buzz at John Paul Village Heathcote this year, with a significant event for three of its residents.
Ken Harris, Jean Roberts and John (‘Jack’) Potts all turned 100, between March and July.
Mr Potts, a World War II ex-serviceman, was raised at Carlton. He joined the public service in 1934 and retired in 1978 as a legal advisor in the premier’s department.
He has five children, nine grand-children and four great-grand children. He has lived with his wife Mary and the village since 1995.
Mr Harris, who also served in the war, was married for 73 years. He has two children, four grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was a former president of the Master Plumbers Association, and has lived at the village for the past 28 years.
Mrs Roberts married a Welsh ex-Australian Army serviceman, and had two daughters. She has four grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was widowed in 1973 and has lived at the village since 2000.
