St George residents have to chance to nominate local seniors who make a positive impact in the community for a 2018 NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Award.
The awards this year coincide with the 60th anniversary of the NSW Seniors Festival.
Oatley MP Mark Coure said the awards are a wonderful way to showcase the talents and contributions of seniors living in the local area.
“Seniors make a real difference to local families, recreational groups, businesses and organisations, and we want to celebrate them,” Mr Coure said.
“I am sure everyone in the Oatley electorate knows an older person who deserves to be recognised, so I encourage you to nominate them and show them how much they are appreciated for all they do,” he said.
Minister for Ageing, Tanya Davies MP urged all members of the public to take this opportunity to celebrate the older people in their lives.
“Seniors have a wealth of knowledge and experience to offer, and they continue to make significant contributions to communities across NSW,” Mrs Davies said.
“The NSW Seniors Festival Local Achievement Awards are a special way in which every community can thank local seniors for their hard work, skills and generosity.”

The award ceremony will be held on Friday, April l3 from 12pm to 1pm at Mortdale RSL and Community Club.
