Details of the make-up of the Georges River Local Planning Panel have been released.
The panel of independent planning experts and a community member will assess development applications valued at between $5 million to $30 million, or where there may be a conflict of interest, where there have been more than 10 objections, where a DA varies by more than 10 per cent from development standards, or is associated with a risk of corruption.
Councillors, property developers and real estate agents are ineligible to be members of the new Local Planning Panels.
The panels comprise of a chair, two independent expert members and a community member, who assess relevant development applications made to the local council.
The Minister for Planning, Anthony Roberts, has already appointed independent, expert chairs to each of the Local Planning Panels, as well as an alternate chair.
Councils had to recruit and appoint community members to sit on the panels.
Chair will Georges River Planning Panel is Adam Seaton and alternate chairs will be Paul Vergotis and Sue Francis.
Expert representatives will be:
Juliet Grant, Helen Deegan, Michael Leavey, Russell Olson, Milan Marecic, Jason Perica and Sandra Robinson
Community representatives will be: Cameron Jones, Erin Sellers, Henry Wong, George Vardas and Annette Ruhotas.
The planning panels are mandatory for all councils within the Sydney metropolitan area and Wollongong City Council.
