Melbourne runner Andre Jones will run through Heathcote this week, as part of his major feat - running across Australia.
The 57-year-old began his Run Around Australia for charity on March 10 and will pass through Sutherland Shire on Monday, April 1, before staying overnight at the Heathcote Hotel.
He is hoping to become the first person in history to achieve the mission unassisted by a support vehicle.
Mr Jones is raising money for four charities - GO Foundation, beyondblue, Royal Flying Doctors and The Smith Family.
The retired Royal Australian Navy veteran previously ran solo from Melbourne to Darwin in 2017.
He wants to run an average of more than a marathon a day, all the while pushing a buggy weighing up to 100 kilograms carrying food, water and equipment.
This means he will run for almost one whole year (341 days) and a total of 15,134 kilometres.
With only 13 days off, he will run through six states and is expected to go through 15 pairs of shoes.
His longest run day will be about 68 kilometres, from William Bay to Albany in Western Australia on November 14.
