Company Accountant

Your new company
Your new company is a well known and renowned construction company with a range of ongoing civil projects around Townsville. They are looking to onboard a Company Accountant into the finance team in a newly created role to assist with their rapid growth.

Your new role
Your new role as a Company Accountant will work within a small finance team and report directly to the Chief Financial Officer. Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

• Month end reporting and general ledger maintenance
• Financial forecasting, year-end projections, and variance analysis of business operations
• Provide guidance and support to the company’s finance support staff
• General administration and ad hoc tasks as required

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position you will be a tertiary educated Accountant and possess the following characteristics:

• Exposure to construction, heavy industry, or similar commercial industry
• Experience operating MYOB or similar accounting software
• Intermediate MS Excel skills
• Strong commercial acumen and people management skills
• CA or CPA qualification preferred but not essential
