EL1 / EL2 Policy Officers

About the role
Allygroup is seeking experienced policy officers at the EL1 and EL2 levels for a number of prestigious government departments. 

This is an amazing opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in government on some of the most interesting and challenging issues facing the government. Your experience and motivation will help contribute to the successful development and delivery of fresh policies to meet the challenges Australia faces.

Core Responsibilities:
While the roles will be varied, you will need the ability to:

• prepare quality policy advice that aligns with the strategic direction of the relevant department
• prepare various briefing documents for both senior management and ministerial review
• prepare government documentation including responses to Questions on Notice, Senate Estimates and Ministerial submissions
• engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders to assist with informing policy advice and achievement of the relevant outcomes.

To be successful you will need to have:

• strong research and analytical skills 
• the ability to produce high quality and timely advice 
• excellent written and verbal communication skills
• the ability to build strong and constructive working relationships 
• the ability to exercise sound judgment, work to tight deadlines and the ability to work flexibly with changing workloads and priorities.

Requirements
Candidates who already hold an Australian Government issued security clearance will be well regarded. As it is an eligibility requirement to obtain a security clearance, candidates will need to be an Australian citizen.
