Job Description
- Lead the delivery of the Australia Business Quarterly Performance Forecast (QPF) cycle.
- Support operations with the inputs required and ongoing delivery of the Business Planning requirements (including Latest Estimate).
- Track and communicate business planning performance to relevant stakeholders, including the preparation of the local/regional & entity Management Information to support Management decision making.
- Ensure that the business planning budget content is compliant with the Common Data Model and other reporting requirements.
- Work closely with budget owners to support the budgeting & forecasting processes and cost management principles in line with expectations for respective function.
- Working with the central finance team to provide local knowledge and input to drive robust financial forecasts.
- Working with accounting reporting & control to provide support for Actuals variance analysis on key changes against plan/budget.
- Identify and implement improvement opportunities for business planning and performance management.
- Provide all aspects of economic analysis as required including full preparation of the economic indicators;
- Challenge assumptions and outputs to ensure cash flows are correctly modelled;
- Apply business judgement to modelling based on an understanding of the risks which impact the projects;
- Support business teams in compliance with internal governance;
- Provide analytical/modelling support to the business teams to support meetings and decision making
- Provide economics to facilitate any of the companies internal and external reporting requirements including: Quarterly planning process; Annual reserves valuation and reviews; Asset & goodwill impairment testing as required; and Effectiveness of Investment valuation and reviews;
The Successful Applicant
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have a professional qualification (CPA/CA/CIMA etc) in Accounting & Finance and have previous experience in a similar role. Those with prior experience as a generalist accountant, with a strong understanding of the fundamental accounting processes within a business, who have then moved into a more analytical role, will be highly regarded. An understanding of the broad financials of a business is highly beneficial in this role.
