With over 100 staff and revenues circa $30M, the business has excellent relationships with Tier 1 builders, councils and a range of other stakeholders in the civil sector and is looking for a General Manager to lead the organisation through it's next phase of sustainable and profitable growth whilst maintaining its focus on people & culture. Reporting to the Board, the GM role will be responsible for all aspects of the business, especially as a people & culture leader. Setting the strategic direction you wil champion the company values and provide leadership across all functional aspects including safety, sales & estimating, client relationships & stakeholder management, disciplined financial management, operations and project management, maintenance of capital equipment and long term strategic planning. Working closely with the Board and shareholders, you will embed best practice systems and processes, continued investment into integrating new IT capability and lead strategic growth to the $45M - $50M level by maintaining the business' reputation for excellence and industry leading customer focus.
You will be an experienced leader with a strong understanding of the civil contracting market, ideally with a grasp of project management and project delivery models. Critically important will be cultural fit, leading a group of loyal employees who value a hands-on, authentic leader who naturally rolls up the sleaves as part of the team but also with the vision to lead continued profitable growth by partnering wth major clients as their preferred 'go-to' known for reliability and excellence in project delivery. You'll be consultative, collaborative, values driven and down to earth. Rough diamonds welcome! Agile leadership crucial to demonstrate, as is your experience driving growth from the $30M - $50M mark. Board reporting experience preferred as is tertiary qualifications however big ego's unwelcome, we are also open to exploring commercial leaders looking to take the next step in their career. Equity or longer term profit share may be considered for the right leader.
