Are you an enthusiastic Physiotherapist looking to join a highly experienced interdisciplinary Allied Health team? Do you have a passion for managing a varied fast stream acute case load?

The National Capital Private Hospital is seeking an enthusiastic and innovative Physiotherapist to join our team on a full time basis. The successful applicant would be involved in providing physiotherapy services to the acute surgical wards, CCU and ICU.

The National Capital Private Hospital is a modern, progressive acute medical, surgical and rehabilitation hospital of 148 beds located in the southern suburbs of Canberra. The hospital has 8 operating theatres, an intensive care unit, coronary care unit, day surgery unit, medical/rehabilitation and surgical wards. As a Physiotherapist, your responsibilities will include:

• Providing comprehensive Physiotherapy services to acute surgical inpatients (including orthopaedics, general surgery, cardiac and neurosurgery, and ICU/CCU patients.
• Delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence based practice
• Participating in program development and quality improvement activities within the Allied Health Department
• Working closely with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and their support people
• Discharge planning with the multidisciplinary team and referrals to external services.
• Clinical supervision of physiotherapy and allied health assistant students.

Essential Criteria:

• Bachelor in Physiotherapy or equivalent
• Current AHPRA Registration
• Excellent clinical practice skills to manage a high acuity caseload
• Previous hospital experience is preferred
• Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Excellent organisation and time management skills
• Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
• Clinical skills in ICU preferred (but not essential)
