Exciting new opportunity for a Business Intelligence and Risk Lead to join our ConnectSydney Finance team support a major transport project

About the Role

ConnectSydney, a dynamic joint venture between Service Stream, Boral and Johnson Controls, will be delivering the Sydney Road Assets Performance Contract for the Harbour Zone in metropolitan Sydney. We are looking for talented, motivated and driven individuals to join the team who will be committed to delivering innovative, customer-focused and sustainable outcomes whilst also establishing a positive legacy for our customers and community.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Business Intelligence and Risk Lead. The Business Intelligence and Risk Lead will led the business in leveraging data and identifying opportunities for improvement. This will include spotting trends, as well as recognise potential issues and offer solutions. The Business Intelligence and Risk Lead main focus will be to improve efficiency, increasing productivity, and driving profits for the business.

The Business Intelligence and Risk Lead is also responsible for risk management activities including identification and assessment of risks, and the ongoing maintenance and monitoring of the ConnectSydney’s risk management governance framework and risk register.

Key Responsibilities

  • Determine operational metrics and drive a culture of optimising business performance at all levels, from project level to JV partners.
  • Carryout analysis on agreed operational metrics to determine trends and identify potential risk and opportunities.
  • Provide support and guidance to management and business development strategies.
  • Partnering with the business to maintain, insightfully challenge and increase effectiveness of systems and contract achievements.
  • Continually review and implement improvement in process optimisation and reporting automation.
  • On-going assessments of the relevance of existing reporting for the current / future periods, using knowledge of the business and its systems to optimise or replace as required.
  • Manage and maintain the process of measuring the business performance for contractual and internally set KPIs. Areas of key focus will include but not be limited to the following:
    • Customer Performance;
    • Sustainability;
    • Safety;
    • Operational Performance; and
    • Innovation.
  • Lead the innovation space within the business to deliver successful innovation initiatives that provide continual commercial value.
  • Facilitate innovation workshops and track all benefits and/or innovations raised within the business.
  • Closely monitor projects in delivery to understand and identify potential financial risks.
  • Interact with relevant stakeholders to manage and develop a robust understanding of key contract/project risks and opportunities.

About You

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in either engineering, technical, project management or a related discipline
  • Experience in risk management practice consistent with ISO 33001
  • Experience in a services project delivery role
