Our client are a well renowned Federal Government agency who are concerned with protecting the safety of Australian citizens nationally.

As their exciting, Australia first technology transformation program progresses, they're seeking an outstanding Procurement Specialist with diverse experience managing complex high value procurement activities to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your new role

Working as part of a joint team combining federal government and private sector capability, you'll play a key role in ensuring value for money, purpose driven solutions are delivered for the project through effective procurement and contract management.

Key roles and responsibilities will include:

  • Providing complex contract administration, commercial and procurement support to program teams
  • Overseeing procurement governance and reporting activities
  • Leading strategic sourcing, RFx, contract negotiation and award activities across a variety of technology and non-technology spend
  • Ongoing contract and vendor management, applying continuous improvement principles to ensure value for money and service delivery standards are appropriately maintained
  • Establishing strong relation ships with a variety of stakeholders within the program team, to ensure procurement activities are aligned with project requirements
  • Ensuring all activities are undertaken while taking into account commercial risk, and taking appropriate steps to manage this

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you'll have demonstrable experience operating in an end to end procurement roles, ideally working within a project environment and overseeing a broad variety of technology and indirect spend.

You will come with a prior understanding of what it takes to succeed with complex, high governance commercial environments i.e, government, financial services, technology, defence or telecommunications.

You'll have the ability to communicate effectively in both a written and verbal manner with high level stakeholders, both internal and external.

Ideally, you'll come with a well developed understanding of technology centric procurement, and will have prior experience working within a federal or state government context.

Experience working within a large scale technology transformation project will be viewed favourably.
